We Tried Starbucks’ Protein Drinks—Here’s Our Review

  • Starbucks debut a new menu with Protein Cold Foam and Lattes – they tried the editors of Eating first.
  • The cold brew with simple protein -cold foam is the clear winner; It is delicious without additional sugar.
  • Sugar-free vanilla protein latte impressed, but we would not order the banana cream protein-Matcha again.

The day is finally here: Starbucks has brought their protein -rich menu onto the market with different varieties of protein cold foam and latt. The cold foam receives its protein from additional whey protein, and the lattes are a high protein, a mixture of 2% milk and whey protein thanks to “protein-enhanced milk”.

Some of these new drinks such as the new protein matcha have up to 36 grams of protein pro 16-Uszen Grande Cup. And a portion of the cold protein foam gives every ice to which you add, about 15 grams of protein, and the simple and sugar -free vanilla aromas do not contain any sugar.

Me and EatThe news, trend and update editor Abby Abesamis Demarest had the exclusive opportunity to be one of the first to try the new drinks. Starbucks presented three different new drinks for us to taste before the publication. Here is our honest evaluation of the unsweetened protein cold foam, an flavored protein cold foam and a protein latte -spoiler Alert: There is a drink that you should definitely order.

Starbucks’ new protein drinks: evaluation

The three drinks listed are what Demarest and I tried before the start:

  • Cold brew with simple protein cold foam
  • Eced banana cream protein Matcha, no classic syrup
  • Eced Sugar-Free vanilla protein latte latte

These are all drinks that you can order from today. However, note that the first two drinks are adjustments (you have to specify cold brew with unsweetened protein cold foam and do not for the Matcha if you are looking for an option with a lower sugar).

When we compared notes, it became clear which drink the winner was. Troke roll, please … it’s the Starbucks Cold Brew with unsweetened cold foam! This combination is definitely worth the additional few seconds it takes to order it.

“That was my favorite drink of the bunch,” said Demarest. “The cold foam had a subtle sweetness that added the cold brew well. My mother said it got better with every sip.”

I fully agree. I really think that Starbucks’ cold brew is the superior ice drink, and the additional cold foam is only the cherry above. I can see myself ordered again and again and it can be a more regular drink in the rotation because it has no additional sugar. This is the one that we absolutely recommend trying to try taste and nutrition.

Something to note: While my drinks did not provide protein powder taste, Demarest said that she was hit with a chalk in the first sip for both protein cold foam drinks. We went to two different locations, so that the taste could be dependent on the location by mixing these drinks.

Our second favorite was the process of sugar -free vanilla protein latte. We agree that this tasted just as much as the ECER-VANILLE LATE OF THE chain, so that it is a bonus with an additional protein. I’m sorry, eced banana cream protein Matcha, you just didn’t point us to us.

“The banana taste was subtle, but slightly artificial,” said Demarest, with which I completely agree.

While Demarest enjoyed the drink when the foam in the Matcha dissolved, I was honestly unable to end it. It was strange cute, even without the classic syrup, and for me the Matcha and banana did not complement itself. But if this flavor combination sounds heavenly for you, do it! Only knew that this drink added sugar, so it should be enjoyed in moderation.

Overall, I look forward to trying further protein combinations, especially with the hot drinks. And you can now adapt every drink that uses normal milk or cold foam with the protein options for only 1 US dollar … pumpkin spice protein latte, someone?
