This 70-Cent Costco Dessert Beats the Ice Cream Truck Every Time

This 70-Cent Costco Dessert Beats the Ice Cream Truck Every Time

When I hear the ice cream car drift through the neighborhood in the middle of a wumble working day, I am trying to grab and run my wallet.

As a child of immigrants, I never became too much of a thrill to stand in front of a truck and torture myself about permission. Instead, I heard things like “The Treat is the experience” and “We have ice cream at home”.

Now, as an adult, I realize that I have something better – and much cheaper.

Costco Kirkland Signature Ice Cream Bars

  • Price: $ 12.47 for 18 bars (70 cents per piece)
  • Why I love it: The bars taste like a premium ice car, but they are much more affordable and always in the neighborhood.

Why I Costco’s Kirkland Signature Ice Cream Bars Love

Kirkland Signature Ice Cream Bars are creamy, crispy, slightly salty and Only Bitter enough – a perfectly balanced combination that a child could delight, but takes an adult to appreciate completely.

The Kirkland bars have a real ice cream base – cream, milk, egg yolk, sugar and vanilla extract – without the thickening agents and stabilizers that you can find in other frozen treats you can find. The ice is covered in a thick layer of unsweetened chocolate and filled with roasted almonds to the crunch. The first bite has such a satisfactory snapshot!

The bar itself is a little wider than most versions bought in the shop, so that it has a better ratio of ice to chokola. That means more chocolate and more nuts in every bite, a function that I didn’t need until I bought it. And in contrast to cheaper alternatives, the chocolate coating is free of vegetable oils, so that there is no wax -like mouthfeel.

In my region, a box with 18 bars only costs $ 12.47 plus taxes, so that every bar enters around 70 cents. I have a box in my freezer all summer and never have the feeling that I miss the ice cream truck.

Even die -hard ice lovers Reddit’s R/Costco Forum Have strong opinions and give them “better, creamier, thicker and a better value than Häagen dazs”. And when you consider how quickly it disappears from my freezer, I have to agree.
