The Easy and Affordable Aldi Snack Every Kid Loves (It Makes Snack Duty Simple)

So often I signed up to bring snacks to the various meetings or the school class compartment of my child. When I lay down my name, it seems feasible, but when the day of the event connects me, I come to ideas shortly … and the time. Oh, the fear of snacks!

Then I came across a combination that is the sacred grail of the children’s snacks. Every time I bring it to a meeting, the children are excited and ask again. There are not many remains. It is nutritious, simple, affordable and appealing.

And above all, I can get everything I need to take it off in a stop: Aldi.

Aldi cheese, pretzels and apples

Price: $ 9.16 for two bags cheese, pretzel a bag and a bag of apples

Why I love it: This three -part snack has something for everyone, including protein, fresh fruit and salty carbohydrates. In addition, the cheese is already cut into cubes. Everything I do is to cut the apples.

Why this Aldi snack works

The snack itself is incredibly simple. Ready? They are cheese cubes, mini pretzels and apple slices.

A snack that is a threesome has something for everyone. Most children will like at least one or two items on the tray (and I noticed that no children complained about having a snack just cheese or only pretzels).

There is protein, fresh fruit and salty carbohydrates. Everything that growing children need. All three components that I can bring to Aldi on a single trip that is always on my concerns.

Cheese cube: Aldi sells carved cheese in eight ounces packages in two child -friendly varieties: Cheddar or Colby Jack. Get two bags with this snack combination to feed 12 children. A bag costs 2.09 US dollars in my local business.

Mini pretzels: I get the 16 -unzen bag from Clancy’s pretzel bars or mini-turns. The smaller size of the pretzels simply feels more snackbar. A bag ($ 2.19) is sufficient for 12 children.

Apple slices: This is the only thing you have to prepare. I get a 3-pound bag with a crispy but sweet variety like Gala (currently $ 2.79 in my business). Galas also have the advantage not to brown so easily. I correct and cut about six of them shortly before the snack, and -if I can -do it right and there (there was Kitchen access on the Girl Scout -Meeting Site). If this is not possible for you, try this trick to soak the cut apples in salted water. It will stop them for up to three hours to tan a lot. When it is time to hand over your snack, let the apple slices drain, pat dry with paper towels and put them on a plate.

How to serve this snack

To serve it, I keep the cheese and pretzels in your pockets until I am at the meeting. When I put the snack off, I open the bags and let it off on a tray. Dollar General has large disposable plastic shells in different configurations, and I like to keep them available for such cases. Some of the trays are shared and they work well for this snack.

As I said, I usually cut the apples on site, but you can do this a little earlier and consider them in a bag for easy transport.

Speaking of dollar Tree, it is my point of contact for all children’s party and events. You have good quality packs of napkins in different sizes and colors. I have a plastic tub in my basement that is a lifesaver when I have to make a snack or treatment with an event in the running flight.

Of course, Aldi also has cheap napkins. You can snap 250 pack of their basic napkinsCount about as many as you need, put them in a zipper bag to go to the snack and then use the rest of the napkins at home.

My daughter is now old enough because she and her colleagues can take care of themselves. With snacks provided by parents are no longer automatically part of every single meeting, practice or class party. I do not miss the inconvenience of the snack obligation, but I miss the connectivity that it brought me.

I liked the fast interactions with her teachers or troop leaders as well as the other parents. It makes me nostalgic for this magical primary school, but I can still enjoy this magical snack combination. The next time I buy in Aldi after working at Aldi, I will break out the combo for apples, pretzels and cheese cubes and wasteful with my child in a calming snack.
