Price: $4.19 for a box of 10 waffles
Why I love it: With lots of protein, the crispy waffles are suitable for breakfast, sandwiches and dessert.
My partner and I take turns training in the morning. (Come on, let’s!) To make this happen, I like to have easy, make-ahead breakfast options on hand most days of the week. When I don’t have the luxury of time, I feel good when I can rely on it Aldi’s Breakfast Best Protein Waffles with Buttermilk and Vanilla. And at just $4.19 for a box of 10 waffles, they seem like a deal too good to be true.
Why I love Aldi’s Buttermilk and Vanilla Protein Waffles
These crispy, golden waffles are made with whole wheat flour and pack an impressive 12 grams of protein per serving. They keep my kids energized until the next snack. (Let’s face it, the waffles can’t do magic.)
They’re an easy win for my daughter, who would happily eat a diet of carbs, cheese and air. And in a world where high-protein and kid-friendly don’t typically mix, they’re also rare to find in the breakfast category.
This is how I serve the best waffles for breakfast
On busy mornings, I toast the waffles and serve them with fresh fruit and a drizzle of maple syrup. Or I make a dipper with Greek yogurt (homemade is unreal – so delicious!) and maple syrup or fresh berries to boost the protein even more.
When I feel like upping the ante on my Mother of the Year nomination, I make a compote or a quick chia jam with the seasonal fruit.

Beyond Breakfast – Other Fun Ways I Serve Frozen Waffles
For obvious reasons, these waffles are an easy breakfast staple, but they’re also a blank canvas for endless lunch, dinner, and dessert creations. One of our busy weeknight meal replacements is an all-win dinner for breakfast meal.
Waffle sandwiches are always a huge hit too. Topped with fried eggs and/or turkey sausage meatballs, they make great breakfast sandwiches. For my higher-protein version of a BLT, I pair it with crispy oven-cooked bacon, juicy tomatoes, and peppery arugula or crisp lettuce. Waffle-based Benedicts are next on my list of savory waffles to try.
For dessert, the waffles with ice cream scoops are fantastic, but my favorite topping is whipped yogurt and seasonal (or thawed, frozen) fruit. Think peaches and cream, cherries and chocolate, or blueberries and lemon.
My kids love this treat, but it’s also easy and affordable, and the extra protein doesn’t hurt either. At the end of the day, the waffles please everyone in my family, from the picky eater to the athlete husband. They are a reliable option for quick, delicious and nutritious meals, regardless of the time of day.
