Soda Spice Cake Recipe (2 Ingredients)

My grandmother’s recipe box is one of my most valuable kitchen owners. Most of the recipes are written in their familiar manuscript, but others were sent by friends and family by postcard. You feel back in the past. There are some relics under the gemstones, including a whole stack of different jell-o-shapes and aspics, signs of past culinary trends.

I have fascinated a recipe in the heap since I was a little child. It is called 7up cake, and only two ingredients are listed on the map: a box Duncan Hines Lemon Cake Mix and a 12 -unzen can 7up. It always reads me like a night at night. Could that really work or was it just too good to be true?

I decided to try it, but with an autumn taste profile. My children like spice cakes, so I planned to use a box of it with Ginger Ale. The magic of the soda cake

The only trick for the magic is to slowly add and whisk the soda while going. The soda immediately interacts with the sourdough in the cake mixture, bubbles and bubbles like crazy, so it is important to add a little soda at the same time until they have an evenly mixed dough. For someone who tends to overcome kitchen projects and fine melody recipes for days, I could not believe how perfect this cake came out for the first time.

It had a nice golden brown color, an even climb and a light and fluffy texture. I baked it in a 9×13-inch pan, which is excellent for snacks after school or for a quick and easy dessert. My children are not big to have sugar, and the cake is plenty of sweet as it is, but a simple dust of powdered sugar is everything you need to make it presentable. If you prefer a frosted cake, simply enter it with your icing bought from the shop.

The only question is: Which version should we do next? Some ideas for autumn are gingerbread with gingerbread, pumpkin pie with cream and dark chocolate cake with ginger ale.

  • Not -stick Spray

  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box Spice cake mixture (I use Duncan Hines)

  • 1 (12 ounces) can Ginger ale

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 ° F.
