Well, let me tell you that everything is in the texture and I promise It is worth switching on the oven. Imagine with milk, yogurt, brown sugar and egg until you are inserted into a tender, vudding -like breakfast, you can undress from the spoon. Homemade oatmeal

If you are new in the baked oats, don’t expect a crispy one or Gloopy oatmeal texture here. It is soft, creative, rich and reminds me of bread pudding, only it is made from budget -friendly oats. This recipe makes several portions for less than one dollar, warms up for the quick breakfast a week and freezes well! You can enjoy it cold, warmed up or with a dash of milk, and I like to switch the fruits depending on the season (or what is in my fruit bowl for a little too long).

These baked oats are the epitome of a cheap breakfast before eating Strictly speaking Used Pantry Staples And Keep it full for hours!

  1. Use the old -fashioned rolled oats for the best texture. Hazard oats can become mushy, and steel cutting harrowers need a lot more liquid and a completely different method.
  2. Plan about 2 cups of chopped fruits. It doesn’t matter what type of fruits you use (fresh, conventionally or frozen), simply dice them into pieces of the same size and layer them on the bottom of your 8 × 8 baking pan before adding oatmeal.
  3. Do you want to skip the fruit? I almost always add a kind of fruit, but you can totally leave it out! You don’t have to adjust the baking time. Simply bake the oatmeal until golden brown.

*You can use Every type of fruit You want in this recipe, including freshPresent frozenor Fruits (Go for fruit in your own juices, as in our baked peach flakes). You need there 2 cups of chopped fruits in total. Simply note that frozen fruits can easily extend the baking time.
** I use normal unsweetened simple yogurt. Unsweetened Greek yogurt Should also work well. However, the Greek yogurt has less moisture than simple yogurt, so that your baked oats may become slightly stiffer.
*** I don’t like things too cute, so I used one very much minimal amount of sugar Here. If you want a more rich, more decades, dessert -like baked oatmeal, Double the brown sugar.

Operate suggestions

I love the hot and cold contrast, so my favorite method is to enjoy baked oatmeal, warm with a splash of cold milk. You can also serve it with a dash of whipped cream, a spoon of vanilla yogurt, or eat it directly from the court. If you have skipped the fruit layer, try to spread or maintain your disc with strawberry cupboard, peach jam, blueberry sauce or whatever you love!

Storage & reheating

Homemade oatmeal is one of the best breakfast I’ve ever done. Store the remains in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days or freeze individual parts for up to 3 months. Enjoy it cold or heat in the microwave until it has heated up. I usually store mine in individual containers as soon as they have cooled down after baking.
