Joanna Gaines’s Easy Peanut Butter Pie Is the Perfect Dessert

I am always ready for autumn. As soon as I discover the first Technicolor leaf, the sky suddenly looks clearer, people seem to be friendlier and life looks brighter (I promise that it is not the caffeine in my XXL PSL).

I made my first adult to New York City in autumn when I moved a black Friday to Los Angeles and again a new place for a fresh start. Despite the thrill by Pullo biter, after a welcome change, she can long for something familiar.

When I moved to La for the first time, I wrapped myself in an uninterrupted, old holiday music on food 103.5 fm. It warned my heart to hear her loved one -lover familiar texts and play under the heartless commands of my car navigation to bend “left left” on streets that I had never driven.

But when it comes to the kitchen that serves the same Hey girl, need a hug? Mood, my emotional support food is and will always be peanut butter. Even better if it is in a cake form that is more socially acceptable to bring to a party than, for example, a glass of Skippy – that’s why I liked it Joanna Gaines’ peanut butter cake.

Why I love Joanna Gaines’ peanut butter cake

In the third edition of her Magnolient table Cookbook, Gaines writes“I have never hit a dessert with peanut butter and chocolate that I didn’t like. And this cake is one of all that I come back to.”

You don’t even have to be a fan of “fixed upper” to know what I mean when I say this: Gaines’ peanut butter cake is the weathered white shipap from desserts. Resistance is pointless. No matter how often it was done or how often you have tried it if you are an peanut butter fan-loving an Oreo crust-you will love this velvety, cloud-like confectionery.

How to make this simple peanut butter cake

This cake collapses faster than the star designer whips a modern farmhouse look. It starts with the crust. Pulse 24 entire oreos in a kitchen machine or break them up in a zipper bag until they look like fine sand. Add melted butter and sugar and mix until everything sticks together.

Press the mixture into a 9-inch cake shape with a mug with a flat bottom to compensate for the surface and freeze it for 10 minutes. This short cold prevented the sides of the crust in the oven. Bake for 12 minutes, then put the crust in the fridge to cool off.

Next comes the filling. Add the peanut butter and cream cheese with a blender with the whisk attachment, then add powdered sugar, melted butter, cream, vanilla and salt. Whip light and fluffy – and how the sky smell. Pour the mixture into the chilled crust and put the cake back into the fridge.

After all, they will quickly exceed. Wash and dry the mixed bowl and start the whipped cream by gradually increasing the speed on the powdered sugar, cream and vanilla mixture until it reaches soft, sagging tips. Slide it on the top of the peanut butter filling and let it put it in the fridge for at least two hours.

Quick tips

If you want, you can skip the homemade whipped cream and use cool whip to ease. For additional crispness, they are offset with crushed peanuts, peanut fruits or more crumbled oreos. You really can’t go wrong: it is peanut butter and it will love you, no matter what happens.

But just let’s agree – if we listen to someone on the radio who dedicates the peanut butter a love song, we do it so that I am not.
