So follow this simple, foolproof tutorial how you can make hard -boiled eggs so that you can keep a foreground in the fridge and add an egg if you have to make a meal or snack more. Simple recipe for hard -boiled eggs
There are So Many ways to make hard -boiled eggs from the use of the air fryer to keep the pot over rolling all the time. But this method with hot water bath is the one that I always use. It is simple, reliable and gives me perfectly cooked eggs every time. The trick is to switch off the heat as soon as the water boils and let the eggs sit in the hot water with the lid. No boiled egg yolk, no green rings … only consistently great results!
So let’s go straight to the Nitty Great from what everyone wants to know …
I personally like this method best because it does not require a lot of attention and it is quite forgiving if you cannot take care of the eggs if your timer starts. Here are the basic steps for hard -bound eggs:
- Add cold eggs into a saucepan and cover it with water: Put cold, large eggs directly out of the fridge into a pot in a single layer. Add enough water to cover the eggs with an inch.
- Bring to a boil: Place a lid on the saucepan and bring the water to cook by high heat.
- Switch off the heat: When the water reaches a full roller boiler, switch off the heat and let the pot on the burner (still switched on). Let the eggs sit in the hot water for about 12 minutes. The water will slowly cool down when sitting, which helps you get a certain flexibility before cooking the egg (green egg yolk = via cooked egg).
- Cool the eggs: After 12 minutes, put the eggs in a bowl of ice water for about 5 minutes.
- Peel and enjoy!
How long hard eggs
The simple answer: Cook large eggs with the hot water bathroom method for about 12 minutes to make hard -boiled eggs.
The long answer: The time required for the hard cooking of an egg can vary depending on several factors, including:
- The size of the egg
- The type of cookware and stove used
- The start temperature of the egg
- The boiling method used (cold start, hot start, dampen)
- Their height
You can start with my contemporary guide below, but you may have to experiment a little to find the exact time that is needed to make perfect eggs with your devices, eggs and its height.
The above picture shows results after cooking eggs for 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 minutes.
- 6 minutes: Nice Jammy eggid
- 8 minutes: Egg yolk is half set, half Jammy
- 10 minutes: Mostly determined with a little wet in the middle of the egg yolk
- 12 minutes: Completely solid egg yolk
- 14 minutes: solid egg yolk, not yet over the point of a green egg yolk
I also like to steam my eggs, as can be seen in my tutorial for 6-minute soft eggs. This method is super fast because you only use about one inch water, which gets to cook very quickly. Just let them dampen for about 10-12 minutes to make hard-boiled eggs with the steam method. I also think that steamed eggs peel very easily. See the steaming tutorial here.
How long are you good?
A hard -boiled egg remains good for about a week if it is cooled in its shell. A peeled egg should be eaten within two days.
There is nothing more frustrating than a hard cooked egg that is difficult to peel. Here are some tricks that can help peel them:
- Old eggs peel more than fresh eggs.
- Add cold eggs to the boiling water instead of boiling them together (I do this in my steaming method listed above).
- Tap the egg onto a solid surface and roll carefully to break the bowl all Before peeling, instead of just shredding part of the shell.
- Peel eggs under running water (the water flow helps the white from the shell).
- After removing part of the shell, push a spoon between the shell and the protein to separate it.
- Place the eggs in a covered container and carefully shake to crack the shells until you fall off.
- Add baking powder to the water (approx. ½ teaspoon per pot).

Have you ever gathered a hard -boiled egg just to find out that the egg yolk has become green? No, that doesn’t mean that the egg is lazy! Egg yolks are green due to a chemical reaction that occurs between the sulfur in the protein and the iron in the egg yolk.
In order to avoid green egg yolk, I recommend not cooking the eggs for longer than necessary and transferring them to an ice cream bath immediately after cooking to prevent cooking of being kidnapped.

Add cold eggs to a saucepan. Add the pot enough water to cover the eggs by one centimeter.

Place a lid on the saucepan and switch on the heat to up. Let the water come to a boil.

As soon as the water reaches a full roller boiler, switch off the heat and let the pot on the burner (with the lid) for about 12 minutes. **

After 12 minutes, put the eggs in a bowl of ice water. Cool the eggs in the ice water for about five minutes. Peel and enjoy.
