Banana bread has always been one of my favorite things. It requires easy to find pantry ingredients, comes together at lightning speed and fills my kitchen with the most delicious aroma. Of course, it is also a great way to consume these overripe bananas that always seem to linger on my worktop.
I have experimented over the years with all possible banana bread recipes, but I return to my mother’s simple recipe. Although the recipe contains many warm spices – including ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon – I couldn’t help but ask himself whether there was anything that could bring this delicious recipe to the next level. And then I found it: Cinnamon sugar.

One day when I enjoyed cinnamon toast for breakfast, I was beaten by inspiration. Cinnamon sugar is part of the banana bread. It gives sweet, warmth and exactly the right amount of crunch in the crust. Genius!
If you don’t have a cinnamon sugar at hand yet, you can easily make it by combining granulated sugar with ground cinnamon. I use the Vietnamese (or Saigon) cinnamon, which has a brave and sweeter taste as other varieties of Cassia Cinnamon. However, every type of soil cinnamon is the case.
The most frequently used relationship to the production of cinnamon sugar is part of a part of cinnamon to four parts of granulated sugar. (Use a tablespoon of ground cinnamon for a small supply of cinnamon sugar and a quarter -move with granulated sugar.) Stir around to combine, and then store at room temperature in an airtight container like a small mason glass.

How to add banana bread cinnamon sugar
If you add banana bread cinnamon sugar, you have some options. The easiest way – and the one I use most – is to simply sprinkle the top of the dough with a tablespoon of cinnamon sugar and ensure that the exposed dough is completely covered before I slam the pan into the oven.
An alternative is to sprinkle cinnamon sugar onto the floor and the sides of the greased loib pan before the dough is added to the crust.
If you feel particularly decadent, you can act the cinnamon sugar in the dough. After adding half of the dough into the pan, sprinkle a layer of cinnamon sugar and then add the rest of the dough. Use a knife to swing the dough into the middle of the pan. Top the dough with a tablespoon of cinnamon sugar before baking.
However, cinnamon sugar is added to banana bread, this small upgrade gives your next loaf a great taste.
