Ingredients
For the oat pack
- ½ cup All -purpose flour
- ½ cup Old -fashioned oats
- ½ cup Light brown sugar
- ¼ cup Holded pecans
- ½ TSP baking powder
- ¼ TSP Cinnamon
- ¼ TSP Salt
- ¼ cup butterPresent cold and cut into small pieces
For apple filling
- 2 LBS. ApplesPresent Palposa, chartered and thinly cut, approx. 3 to 4 cups.
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 Tbsp All -purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Lemon juice
- ½ TSP Vanilla extract
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ TSP Cinnamon
- 1 prize Salt
Instructions
To make topping
-
Combine flour, oats, pecans, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl and whisk together. Add the chilled butter and use clean fingers to press the butter and create a rough mix. Place the bowl in the fridge until you can be used.
To make the filling
-
Whisk ¼ cup of melted butter with 2 tablespoons of flour in a large bowl. Add in water, lemon juice, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon and pinch of salt and to combine.

Stir in the cut apples and coat it evenly with the brown sugar mixture. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish and add the oat crumbling.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the middle is bubbling and the top is nicely browned. Let the apple cool down for at least 5 minutes before you have serving.

** can be prepared in the refrigerator before baking for up to 24 hours, covered and stored in the refrigerator. If you bake from chilled cheeks, you have to bake longer (until the middle is bubbling).
