This slightly grilled salmon is finished in 15 minutes. Simply clean the salmon with olive oil, sprinkle it with spices and grill. The skin is the best part and I will give a few tips to make sure that it is crispy.
Grilled salmon is one of my favorite salmon recipes. Accompanied by a simple side dish like broccoli salad, it is one of the simplest dinner that I make for my family. Similar to this grilled mahi mahi it is finished in 15 minutes and it’s delicious! The remains are excellent when they have broken off and used cold as a salad covering.
Ingredients and variations
You can find precise measurements in the recipe card. Here are my comments on the ingredients.
- Salmon fillets: I almost always choose skin-on fillets. The skin, fat and crispy is my favorite part.
- Olive oil: You can delete the fish with melted butter or ghee instead of olive oil.
- Cheat: Kosher salt, black pepper and garlic powder.
- Optional: Sometimes I cut a lemon, brush the slices with olive oil or butter, glaring next to the fish and then serving it with the fish.
Recipe tip: reach crispy skin
When using skin-on fillets (as you should!), Nothing hurls the skin better than grilling. Take a look at the beautiful, crispy skin in the photo below!
Crispy salmon is delicious. As you probably know, many Japanese restaurants serve salmon -shaped sushi rolls that are considered a delicacy.
To ensure that the skin is crispy, put the fillets down on the grill skin side and let them cook undisturbed for five minutes. Then carefully turn them over and end the other side.

I like simply seasoning the salmon with kosher salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Sage is excellent with salmon, but it will charate the hot grill. So I don’t use this recipe, but I use it when I make pan fried salmon.
The fish skin adheres to cooking surfaces. It is therefore important to grease your grill thoroughly. If you use a grill pan or a double contact grill, make sure that you are not steadfast – really unclear without scratches – and oil them before you are used.
You can use an outdoor grill, an inner grill (including a two-contact grill like the one that I use in the video below) or use a grill pan.
You can store the remains in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Warm them gently in the microwave with 50% electricity. You can also freeze the cooled residues wrapped in foil and seal it in freezer bags for up to 3 months.
Salmon tastes fishing when warming up, so I fail the leftovers and use them as a salad. They are awarded as an additional protein in this Rucola salad and can be used in this CobB salad instead of chicken. In the photo below you can see that I served the cold salmon on a simple salad made of mixed green and ranch dressing.
