I wrote a Cookbook about ice creams sandwiches and a Cookbook on Cookie -BackenI feel particularly qualified to proclaim this recipe as the best cookies and cream ice cream that you will ever taste.
Don’t just take my word for it. Jess, the photographer who shot this recipe, wrote to me during the process to say: “I have to tell you that this is the best ice I have ever had. Bought business, homemade, ice cream parlor or in other ways! Wow, great job!“”

One of my recipe testers for this recipe wrote in her report: “I served the ice cream with tough brownies, which I came into the microwave for 20 seconds, for an epic, epic sundae from Gooeey Brownie.“I totally tolerate this idea!

Ice cream for me requires A contrast of textures. Mix-ins, toppings or as sundae or sandwich is necessary to create a convincing mouthfeel in order to really enjoy all flavors. This recipe hits it from the park.
The texture is the reason why I (not so humble) are obsessed with my strawberry cheese cake and ice cream. The latter has huge pieces of homemade edible biscuit dough!

How to do cookies and cream ice cream
Key ingredients for cookies and cream ice cream
- Cream cheese – – Half a brick with cream cheese creates a rich, creamy texture and emphasizes this classic oreo fillet taste. Do not use a reduced fat -rich, paintable or beaten cream cheese that is intended for bagels because you do not result in the right consistency.
- Whipped cream – – You want a cream with about 36% fat for the best smooth and creamy texture.
- Full milk -Do not exchange milk with lower fat milk, otherwise your ice cream is icy and less smooth.
- Corn syrup – – Only one tablespoon helps to get a softer and creamier texture in the freezer. Note that corn syrup (how caro) is not High-fructose maize syrup; These are two different things. You can omit this ingredient if necessary, but your ice cream can be a little more difficult.
- Oreos – Use entire oreos (do not scratch the filling!). The recipe was written with regular oreos, but if it uses double level, the ice machine is quite full. Use a spatula to gently mix it in the last minute of the upswing if necessary.

The best ice machine
I love mine Kitchen ice cream. I have had one for over ten years and used it to literally write a cookbook about ice cream so that you can imagine how much use it has. I prefer it to the KitchenAid attachment.
If you use a similar machine Make yourself 100% sure that the freezer is completely frozen before you wean. Otherwise you will receive a soup. This means that if you shake the freezer shell, there should be no liquid disappearance. Your ice mix should also be well cooled before adding it to the machine.
If you use a self -freezer, you don’t have to worry about freezing the bowl beforehand.

How long does ice cream take to emigration?
This depends on your ice machine. The brand, the engine, the style, the capacity and the age of your machine play a factor. With new ones it can not take as little as 15 minutes. With older machines it can take approximately 25 minutes to turn. Follow the instructions of your machine and check frequently.
The homemade ice cream is ready when a spoon stays on your spoon and does not melt or do not melt immediately.
Can I make this recipe without an ice machine?
Although an ice machine really delivers the best smooth and creamy results, you can use methods No. 2, No. 3 or No. 4 from My How to do ice cream without a machine Here if you don’t have an ice machine!
How to keep homemade ice cream:
Store in an airtight container at one point in your freezer that maintains a consistent temperature (ie, if possible not in the door). To prevent burning, press plastic film directly against the top of the ice cream. Do not store in the ice machine bowl.
If you plan to give ice cream, I love this Adorable Pint container from Amazon!
How to shovel and serve homemade ice cream:
The homemade ice cream hardens in the freezer in the freezer compared to ice bought in the shop. This is because mass ice cream is based on production techniques with mass production that involve more air in the ice and emulgators such as guar rubber or Carrageenan to prevent ice crystals.
To draw homemade ice cream easily, put the container in the fridge for about 30 minutes before serving. If you lay it out at room temperature before serving, the unevenly thaws where the ice near the edges of your container becomes melting while the center is still difficult. The entire container can soften with the fridge. This is my favorite ice shovel.
