As someone who was born and grew up in Ohio, I know that nothing goes with amish-made goods from cheese and bread to furniture. Unfortunately, even the most careful cheeseemacher are not immune to run-ins with food-fogenu pathogens.
On September 5, Middlefield Original Cheese Co-OP in Middlefield, Ohio, terminated a recall for different types of cheese Because of Listeria Contamination.
Routine tests by the Amish LED Coop showed the presence of Listeria in some products and on the devices used to cut the cheese. Listeria can cause severe diseases transmitted with foodEspecially in older people or people with a weakened immune system.
