- Aldi remembers Fusia Asian Inspirations’ veggie spring rolls sold nationwide.
- The product may contain shrimp, an undeclared allergen that poses a risk to consumers.
- Check your freezer for this item and return any recalled products to Aldi for a refund.
Aldi has just announced a recall of a popular frozen product sold in grocery stores nationwide, according to a company release and a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to an undeclared ingredient that poses an allergy risk.
The item affected by this recall is Fusia Asian Inspirations Vegetarian Spring Rolls, sold in 10-ounce packages with a printed UPC number of 409910222258 and a best-by date of “05/17/2027.” The spring rolls may contain shrimp, which is not listed in the ingredients list.
“The recall was initiated after it was discovered that certain cases of shrimp spring rolls may have been inadvertently packaged in boxes labeled “Vegetable Spring Rolls,” the FDA report said. “The cause of this labeling error is under investigation.”
Check your freezer and if you have the affected spring rolls on hand, discard them or return them to your local Aldi for a refund. Although there are no illnesses or reactions associated with this recall, individuals with special dietary habits or a shellfish allergy may unknowingly eat shrimp while consuming this product. This can lead to an allergic reaction that can lead to anaphylaxis. If you or a loved one show signs of anaphylactic shock such as hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness and/or throat tightness, call 911 immediately.
