Mississippi Comeback Sauce Recipe (5 Minutes)

Mississippi Comeback Sauce Recipe (5 Minutes)

After living most of my adult life as a city girl in Los Angeles and New York, it is a miracle that comeback sauce, the unofficial spice of Mississippi, can always be found in my fridge.

I fell in love with this southern staple over a decade ago when my sister married a Mississippi -Born and she settled in a small town outside of Jackson to raise her family. I had never heard of these mysterious dressing meets, the sauce immersed until I visited the state. I never looked back from the first taste. Comeback sauce is thick and spicy with a hint of sweetness that enlivens everything it touches.

Opportunities to use comeback sauce

Comedack sauce is so much more than a salad dressing. Of course, it will upgrade every salad immediately, but can also be used as a spread, dip or as an aromatic ingredient exchange in some of your favorite dishes.

I like to use comeback sauce to apply pasta salad or potato salad. It can also be used instead of mayonnaise if the filling is made for devilish eggs. Try it out when a sandwich spreads out or distributed on warm, roasted rolls if you grill Hamburg next time.

My preferred way of using comeback sauce is immersed. It is excellent with onion rings or French fries, but they didn’t live until they dive fried cucumber in comeback sauce.

Key ingredients

At first glance, a series of comeback sauce could simply look like a thousand island dress with a southern accent. However, this versatile spice is so much more.

The chilli sauce brand has a strong impact on the end result of the recipe, so I always use Homade chili sauce On the shop shelves. It has an unmistakable sweet and spicy taste that is superior to other brands. The glass is easy to see because it is located in a unique bottle with a deliberately distorted label to convey a really homemade feeling.

The recipe also requires the use of a neutral oil. Saflor or rapeseed oil are options, but use peanut oil for a really southern turn.

Check the consistency

The consistency of this sauce can be determined by personal preference or based on how you want to use. I like it too crazy on the thicker side when I use it as a dip or sandwichsprad. If I know that it will be a salad dressing, I dilute it a bit to low consistency. I also think that the chilli sauce of the Homade brand leads to a thicker sauce, while other brands are thinner from the start.
