Tips from the Esswell test kitchen

These are the most important tips that we have learned when developing and testing this recipe in our test kitchen to ensure that it works, tastes good and is also good for you!

  • Make sure you don’t boil the pasta when cooking. You want it to be only al -dente because it will continue to cook after assembly. Also remember to save your pasta water! It helps to bind the sauce to the pasta, which leads to a much creamier texture.
  • To improve the taste of this casserole, you should add ingredients such as mushrooms, sun -dried tomatoes or shredded red pepper. Including spinach, a beautiful earthy touch would also offer.
  • In order to save the preparation time, we used a pre -packed, pre -driven Italian cheese mix. However, it would also be a delicious option to crush Asiago or Fontina cheese.
  • For the Parmesan, we recommend founding it by hand instead of using a pre -founded variety.

If you choose skinless chicken, you make sure that you keep your saturated fat intake low.
  • Choose Full wheat penne Normal pasta helps you bring more fiber into your diet. Together with protein, fiber helps to slow down the digestion so that they are full for longer after a meal. Fiber is essential for good digestive health and for a healthy microbiome.
