My 1-Ingredient Upgrade for Better Lemonade (It’s Already in Your Pantry)

Lemonade is undoubtedly my drink of summer. As soon as the afternoon rolls around, I long for him. It not only offers the perfect balance of cakes and sweet, but also reminds me of loved ones from childhood. And when I was a lemonade girl bought in the shop for years, I never looked back when I discovered how much tasty it is homemade.

When making lemonade at home, there is a trick that I always use Cute it with honey Instead of granulated sugar. While most lemonade recipes make a simple syrup from equal parts to sugar and water, honey is my point of contact.

The natural sweetener gives the lemonade a deeper intrigue of the lemonade thanks to its subtle floral, fruity and sometimes earthy flavors. In addition, honey always sits reliably in my pantry. And it is sweeter than normal sugar so that you can use less of it when you open a batch of lemonade. Tips for adding honey to lemonade

  • Be sure to mix: If you have ever added a cold liquid honey, you know that it often takes up and stays a large lump. To avoid this – and to ensure that the entire lemonade charge is sweetened evenly, look at the lemonade ingredients (including herbs or fruits). It is quick, simple and leads to a uniform honey taste that runs through the drink.
  • Do not use too much: As already mentioned, honey is sweeter than normal sugar. So change the amount if you use a lemonade recipe that requires granulated sugar. A good rule of thumb is to use about half of the amount of honey that you would make sugar (you can add more and more to taste). For my recipe, four cups of water, two whole lemons (more on the bottom), the juice of a lemon and the fresh mint use to mix 1/2 cup of honey instead of a cup of sugar.
  • Use entire lemons: Maybe you noticed that my recipe requires entire lemons, and yes, you read it correctly! Shops (or thin -skinned), sowing, whole lemons give the lemonade incredible body after mixing. It does not add the perfect texture, not too thin, for a particularly satisfying drink.

The use of honey has completely changed the way I make lemonade at home. It adds a deeper, more complex taste and mixes well with other fresh ingredients that I like to use. With just a few pantry base foods and a quick mixture, I can make a refreshing drink that is far better than anything that is bought with the shop.

It is a simple upgrade that makes homemade lemonade even more pleasant.
