What makes wood fiber cutlets so brilliant is that you can achieve the sweet spot between traditional wood and modern convenience. As with the CRATE & BARREL version, the Aldi board has the same smooth, matt surface that my knives, but hard enough to manage the daily chop without showing wear.

Both boards are heat-resistant enough (350 ° F) to use as trivettes and have non-porous surfaces that do not absorb stains or smells. For example, my current board does not keep the continued garlic or onion smells as tight as they seem to pursue other boards.
