Strawberry -Banana -Smoothie

In the past few weeks I have made this strawberry banana recipe more often than I can count. Now that it is in summer, my whole family has almost every morning for breakfast for breakfast. Thick, creamy and sweet, it is super refreshing on a hot day.

This strawberry -smoothie recipe could not be easier. It requires a handful of fundamental ingredients and comes together in the mixer in less than 5 minutes. It is the kind of things that you can easily pull for breakfast on a busy weekday morning (yes, even if you walk around a toddler!) Or quickly open for a healthy afternoon snack.

Like all smoothie recipes, this is flexible. Do it as written or mix it through by throwing in your favorite add-ins. Find some of my variations below!

Strawberry -Banana -Moothie -ingredients

Here is what you need to make this recipe for strawberry bananas -moothie:

  • StrawberriesNaturally! I use frozen strawberries to give this smoothie a thick, frosty texture. Use fresh strawberries or thawed frozen for a thinner consistency.
  • banana – 1/2 frozen banana perfects the creamy texture of this smoothie and the sweet taste. Use a Banana taste 1 banana instead of 1/2 for a thicker smoothie or a stronger banana taste.
  • Fully milk of Greek yogurt – for creamy texture and spicy taste. It also adds protein!
  • Milk – any kind you like! Almond milk is my point of contact, but oat milk or normal milk would also work.
  • Fresh lemon juice – My secret ingredient! Its brightness compensates for the sweet berries and bananas.
  • And honey or maple syrup – A small additional sweetness produces the berry taste.

Strawberry Smoothie in the mixer

How to make a smoothie

This recipe is super easy:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a mixer.
  2. Mix up to smooth and add more milk as required to achieve a creamy consistency.
  3. Taste and fit in and add more sweeteners, fruit and/or lemon juice as desired.

Pour in glasses and enjoy!

Recipe tips

  • They control the consistency. Full disclosure: I like my smoothies super thick and frosty (I sometimes eat them with a spoon!). In order to achieve this extra creamy texture, I use both frozen strawberries and frozen banana in this recipe and start with just 1 cup of milk. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more milk or only use a kind of frozen fruits – sharpening berries or banana. Add the other fresh.
  • No ice required! The frozen fruit makes this smoothie cool and creamy for itself! It also gives him a concentrated berry taste. I don’t like adding ice cream here because it goes down the taste.
